The war between Russia and Ukraine, which is completely changing the world order, is multidimensional. It has a military dimension, in which Ukraine, with very limited Western assistance, mainly intelligence, is trying to exploit the natural advantages to be defended in a conventional war, in order to exact a high price from the Russian army and prolong the fighting.
This is while the Russians are trying to make the most of the superiority they have in the scope of the forces and the quality of their armament and the fact that the initiative is in their hands, in order to achieve their military goals as quickly and at the lowest possible cost in casualties.
What can be said is that a great impact on the results will be another dimension that is crucial at this point, and that is the campaign over the narrative. What is the story that each person or group of people tells themselves about what is happening, about themselves in the context of the occurrence and the other factors involved in it.
In this context, it seems that the one who best understands the importance of the matter is the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky.
Even if he is decided in a short time and may even lose his life, he succeeded through personal example, determined and exciting messages, leveraging the heroic and sacrificial manifestations of Ukrainian soldiers and the injuries and losses inflicted on Russian forces, creating a Ukrainian narrative of struggle, sacrifice and pride that will remain a legacy in the Ukrainian national ethos, and will maintain this ethos as a fuel that will fuel opposition to the Russian occupier over time.
If he manages, contrary to all odds, to survive at the head of the Ukrainian system at the end of the campaign, he will be able to leverage the narrative to position Ukraine and himself as a model of freedom struggle and present Ukraine as a role model for other nations, especially in Russia and perhaps Russia.
It is clear, therefore, how dangerous Zelenski's moves in the campaign over the narrative are in Putin's eyes.
For Israel, the conclusions are clear. Cohesion around the Zionist narrative is more essential than ever, as is the recognition that in the face of the narrative presented by the West, we must trust only ourselves in securing our vital security interests, and we must ensure that the West's weakness is translated into willingness to come to terms with Iranian conditions.
