More and more questions are being asked recently about the origin of the wheat that reaches the countries in the Middle East. On Thursday, the Ukrainian embassy in Beirut stated that a Syrian ship that is on the United States' sanctions list is anchored in the port of Tripoli in northern Lebanon, with a cargo of "5,000 tons of barley and 5,000 tons of flour, which we suspect were stolen from Ukrainian warehouses."
On the other hand, the Russian embassy in Lebanon stated that it "has no information" about the Syrian ship. Meanwhile, the customs authorities in Tripoli have not yet issued a permit to unload the cargo until its origin becomes clear.
In recent weeks, there are more and more claims from the Ukrainians that Russia stole grain from warehouses in Ukraine and transported it to various destinations in the Middle East and especially to Syria. The Russians deny.
