Oddly enough, a few days before the professor's death, China tried to sweep under the rug a safety incident at one of its nuclear power plants
One of China's top nuclear scientists has recently, mysteriously, fallen to his death from a high-rise building. The announcement of the scientist's death was received from Harbin University.
The nuclear scientist, Professor Zhang Jijian, was the vice president of the university, and led the university in nuclear research. Local police ruled out murder as a cause of death, following an investigation they conducted at the scene. No further details were provided by police. Harbin University has expressed in one of the Chinese social media channels, in a laconic announcement, a deep grief over the death of the professor.
Surprisingly, a few days before the professor's death, China tried to sweep a safety incident at one of its nuclear power plants, located about 85 kilometers west of Hong Kong. This station has been active since late 2018. While the French company Framatome, which built the nuclear reactor for the Chinese, described the operation at the nuclear reactor as an "imminent radiological threat", the Chinese government tried for several weeks to undo the severity of the French assessment.
