Jordanian army thwarts attempt to smuggle huge shipment of drugs from Syria

"The forces of the Northern Military Command thwarted, at dawn, on one of its fronts, an attempt to infiltrate and smuggle large quantities of drugs from Syrian territory." according to a military report of the General Command of the Jordanian Army.

The military source reported that after the smugglers' squad was identified, an exchange of fire began between the parties, which led to the injury of one of them and the escape of the other members of the squad towards Syrian territory.

After the escape of the members of the squad, the Jordanian Border Guard forces managed to seize a vehicle loaded with large quantities of narcotics, including 578 hashish soles, 6.5 million captagon pills, 1,876 narcotic pills of the Larica type and a number of devices and equipment used for smuggling purposes.
