General Eunis hails from the town of Qardha in the Latakia province, the home of the Assad family, and is considered one of the most prominent military figures in the Assad regime, with a record of committing crimes against humanity and widespread human rights violations against the Syrian people. He was one of Assad's arms. In the suppression of peaceful protests in 2011, when he was commander of Fuj (parallel to the 555th Brigade), with the rank of lieutenant general, who was subordinate to Division 4 under the command of Maher Assad.
