Former Kuwaiti Minister of Information Saad bin Tefla said that the ideology of ISIS did not come from thin air, and that it has already been preached by the Muslim Brotherhood in Sayyid Qutb’s writings. He made his remarks in an interview that aired on Asharq TV (Saudi Arabia) on August 20, 2021. Bin Tefla continued to say that the Muslim Brotherhood has never renounced these ideas. Referring to the claim that political Islam has never been tried before, and that it should be given the chance to rule a country, he listed many Muslim countries that have tried political Islam in the past. Bin Tefla continued to say that Sudan was on the verge of becoming a failed state as a result of many years under the rule of political Islam, and in Tunisia most of the problems stem from the Ennahda movement, which represents the Muslim Brotherhood.
