An incident of a mysterious explosion in the town of Beituniya in Ramallah led the Palestinian security forces to find a large amount of explosives. As reported, 8 kg of explosives were found after the same explosion. According to the Palestinian Authority, it is a Hamas explosives laboratory intended to hit the Muqata, Palestinian television and senior officials on its behalf. 

Following the incident, Palestinian Authority security forces arrested between 4-5 suspects, all Hamas operatives. The Palestinian Authority links the suspects to the same explosion as well as to the same explosives laboratory. Among the detainees is Salah Aruri - a relative of a senior Hamas figure.
