The town of Hempstead in the State of New York, officially announced Thursday it will cancel all municipal business transactions with the Vermont-based ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s and its parent Unilever, following its boycott of Israel’s Judea and Samaria.
In an emergency Town Council, the council members broke the news to the public.
“We stand with our Jewish neighbors against anti-Semitism and maintain a strong stance against the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement,” Hempstead Council member Bruce Blakeman wrote in an open letter the previous day.
