Last Sunday, the US finally managed to get its hands on one of the most sought-after people in recent years, Alex Saab an associate of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and the man who for many years helped him run and maintain a money laundering and tax evasion system, while he himself is suspected of illegally withdrawing more than $350 million from the Bolivarian Republic and stashed it in countries - including to the United States. 

Despite this, what is particularly interesting is that in addition to assisting the president of Venezuela, Alex Saab, or in his real name, Hassan, was one of the senior 'financiers' of the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the South American continent. He managed most of the 'illegal' economic activity in the Lebanese terror group. He ran the organization in the region, in which, among other things, he also took part in managing the relationship between the government of Maduro (Venezuela) and the regime of the Ayatollahs in Iran. For example, it appears that Hassan brokered transactions of arms between the countries.

Saab, 49, a Colombian with Lebanese citizenship and known by a variety of names, such as Alex, Alexei, Ali Hassan and Rashid, joined Hezbollah at the age of 24 and conducted intelligence activities against the IDF forces in the security zone. Later, the terrorist participated in organizing the Unit 910, Hezbollah's overseas' terrorist attacks mechanism. Several years he spent in the US spying on large and "weak" targets in the US for future terror attacks.

In recent years, Ali Hassan tried to kill his friend - after suspecting he was an Israeli agent, he aimed weapon at him at close range and pulled the trigger twice, but for some unknown reason, the weapon did not fire.

Hassan faces a heavy sentence of decades imprisonment, and it will be interesting just how much information will be gotten from this central piece of the Hezbollah crime/terror empire.
