Turkey is forced to shut down manufacturing plants across the country after Iran stopped supplying natural gas to Turkey on January 20, 2022.

The official Iranian excuse: a technical malfunction that will take 10 days to repair. The Turks are threatening to sue Iran internationally claiming that Iran has stopped flowing gas due to high demand for gas within Iran due to the winter.

Iranian gas supplies 10% of Turkish gas needs and Turkish dependence on it is high. The Turks are now helpless and suffering significant economic damage as a result of the cessation of gas flow.
