Egyptian Oil Service Ship Sinks in the Red Sea
The Nziv Report 02.06.2021
A supply ship and service ship for the oil industry sank in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the Red Sea region of eastern Egypt.
A security source said in press statements that the ship was known as "Inspecta-7", a supply ship operating for an oil company, noting that 11 people had been rescued.
He explained that the search was still ongoing for one of the engineers, and also announced the death of the ship's captain.
To date, the Egyptian authorities have not specified the reasons for the sinking of the ship. The Red Sea is currently defined as a war zone following the hostile activity of the Houthi militias, under direct Iranian instruction, against the commercial shipping lines of the Red Sea.
