Redemption in Spite of Destruction

In the Jewish calendar year, there are three weeks of sorrow in remembrance of the destruction of Jerusalem.
Immediately following, there are the seven weeks of consolation. A reminder that even in the event of terrible destruction, the foundation for redemption is already being laid.
The story of the return to Babylon is a reminder of that redemption in spite of destruction.
Against all odds, the wall around Jerusalem was built, and that wall survived to this day as a permanent testament to that victory.
