IDF Spokesman: 12 UN ambassadors from different countries visited the IDF last week and heard reviews from senior IDF officials in various sectors regarding the security challenges facing Israel. The ambassadors were accompanied by Israel's ambassador to the UN, Gilad Ardan and Foreign Ministry representatives, and toured a variety of sites.
Last Thursday, the ambassadors visited the Galilee formation, where they were surveyed by the head of the Strategy and Third Circle Division, Major General Tal Kalman, and the commander of the formation, Brigadier General Shlomi Binder. Later in the day, the ambassadors arrived at a terrorist tunnel on the Lebanese border of the Hezbollah terrorist organization and were given an overview of the sector's challenges, the situation in Lebanon, Hezbollah's establishment and intensification on the Lebanese border, and Iran's influences in the region.
Following the visit held yesterday (Sunday), the ambassadors visited the Palmachim Air Force Base, where they met a representative of the Wall Administration at Mapat. Throughout the tour, the ambassadors were introduced to the Air Force's air defense systems, including the "Iron Dome" system. The ambassadors then visited near the Gaza border, and were instructed on the Hill of Bells on the decree.
Towards the end of the visit, the ambassadors toured the Adir Squadron at Nevatim Base.
In the words of Israel's Ambassador to the UN, Gilad Ardan: "The tours in the north and south illustrated to the ambassadors the security threats to Israeli citizens from the terrorist organizations operating with the help and support of Iran. They also heard about the war crimes committed by terrorist organizations that use civilians as human shields. I am sure that the visit to Israel will greatly affect their work at the UN and the depth of their cooperation with me at the UN for Israel and their support for Israel's right to defend itself. "
In the words of the commander of the Galilee Designation, Brigadier General Shlomi Binder: "The current crisis in Lebanon is severe. The terrorist organizations in Lebanon continue their activities at the expense of the lives of Lebanese citizens. We have seen the explosion in the weapons depots of the Hamas terrorist organization in southern Lebanon, which was caused as a result of terrorist activity. Instead of worrying about Lebanese citizens, terrorist organizations, Hezbollah and Hamas are risking their lives.
Terrorist organizations in southern Lebanon continue to store dangerous weapons in villages, hide their illegal activities behind Lebanese civilians, and develop the missile precision project that poses a direct threat to the State of Israel.
"The IDF will continue to work with our partners around the world to thwart threats and face common challenges together."
