The Golani reconnaissance unit entered Jenin to locate weapons in two different buildings, following suspicion that weapons were hidden there. During the operation, a violent disturbance began to develop around the forces which included throwing stones, irons, explosives and gunfire.
"The force identified a suspect vehicle approaching," a military source said.
According to the military source, the suspects opened fire on the troops from inside the vehicle.
"The soldiers got out of the vehicle, stormed the car from which the fire started, shot and killed three terrorists and wounded one more person," he added. "They tried to escape but were unsuccessful because the force acted quickly. In those seconds there was further firing on the force from several other places. Not all of them were identified by the force, but to those they identified they responded with live fire."
The military source added that "they acted exactly as expected of them - while firing on them from several directions they conducted themselves calmly. They were very brave to attack the terrorists from a very short range and shoot at them with great precision.
