The Corona Cabinet will convene Sunday for a crucial discussion on the new school year outline, as most ministers and Health Ministry officials believe it can start as usual on September 1.
Coronavirus cases have ascended throughout the country in recent weeks due to the spread of the Delta variant, but morbidity rates have slowed down over the weekend.
Two main outlines will be submitted for a vote.
The first, named the Green Class, will consist of weekly coronavirus screening tests in elementary schools in “red cities” (areas with large numbers of infections). In case of a positive test, the entire class will undergo quick tests every day.
The second will apply for middle and high schools, in cases where less than 70 percent of the class was vaccinated.
