Half a Shekel - 2000 years apart!
On the right is a half shekel coin from 2000 years ago - discovered in the City of David Sifting Project. On it is written “Holy Jerusalem” in Hebrew on one side of the coin, while the words “Half Shekel” appear on the other.

On the left is the new half shekel coin minted in Israel today! “The New Half Shekel” appears on one side, with a Davidic lyre on the back!
