- 'Islam is the solution to the oppression of women'

American imam Ibraheem Al-Hoori said in a Friday sermon at Masjid Ahlul Quran Wa Sunnah in Queens, New York that men are leaders over women, that husbands run the marriage and household, and that it is an act of religious worship for women to be subservient and obedient to their husbands. 

He explained that men are looked down upon today, that they are “scared to talk like this,” and that “feminist men” try to “gather the women” when they speak in mosques because women have money. 

Al-Hoori also said that there are women who are oppressed throughout the world, and that the solution to this oppression is to practice Islam.
