Just what we do not need now: an attack on a refinery in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia announced in the early hours of the day that its refinery in the Riyadh area had been attacked. Not many details were given but the announcement indicates that the attack using a skimmer was carried out yesterday afternoon.
It was not disclosed where the aircraft came from but it would not be unreasonable to assume that it came from Yemen and was operated by the pro-Iranian Houthis.
The Saudis claim that a "small fire" was caused as a result of the attack but there were no casualties. In 2019, oil facilities in Saudi Arabia were attacked that managed to reduce oil production by half for several days.
If such a thing happens today in market conditions, the price of oil will skyrocket significantly
