Watch: An Ashkenazic tradition, Kreplach

Kreplach, or Jewish dumplings, are beloved and delicious. Think they are too much work? Think again. These dumplings are the perfect addition to your chicken soup.

The Final holiday of Sukkot, Simchat Torah – Rejoicing with the Torah – celebrates with humor, joy, and song the completion and immediate beginning again of the yearly cycle of reading the Torah, Jewish written law. Children are given honey so they “taste” the sweetness of the Torah.

Enjoy this delicious recipe for authentic kreplach (aka Jewish wonton), dough stuffed with meat filling then boiled and served in chicken soup or fried and served as a side dish.
