IDF Spokesman: Fighter jets hit a senior member of the PIJ, Khaled Mansour, commander of the Southern Region in the Gaza Strip, last night (Saturday). Khaled Mansour's rank is equivalent to the rank of general. The operation was approved by the Chief of the General Staff, the Minister of Defense and the Prime Minister.
In addition to this, two other operatives were apparently thwarted, Khattab Amazzi, the commander of the Rafah Brigade in the Islamic Jihad and Khaled Mansour's deputy, and Ziad Madalel, a member of the PIJ leadership and Mansour's right-hand man who stayed with him.
