Five Arab countries are expected to go bankrupt soon as a result of internal and external crises, and according to statistics released by TRT Arabic in recent hours, the five countries that could collapse and go bankrupt, namely: Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan and Tunisia.
The site has attached with each country a number of reasons that will be responsible for the fall of those countries.
Regarding Syria:
- It has lost the liquidity needed to cover imports from abroad following the decline in Russian support following its war in Ukraine.
- The Syrian economy has shrunk until it now depends on workers' salaries and only some services.
- More than 90% of Syrian citizens in Assad-controlled areas are below the poverty line.
- 70% of them live on cash transfers outside Syria.
The reasons for the severe economic deterioration were also detailed in the other countries.
