Drug smuggling between Syria and Lebanon keeps increasing

The Arab news site based in London - Ashrak al-Awast revealed in a report published today the expansion of the activities of smugglers between Syria and Lebanon. The website stated: "Smuggling operations through illegal ports have recently expanded greatly between Lebanon and Syria."

The website added, "Smugglers are now active in smuggling fuel, vegetables, animals, cigarettes, equipment for cosmetic surgery and even bread."
The website noted that the smugglers make huge profits from the smuggling operations, taking advantage of the price differences between Lebanon and Syria.

It should be noted that senior officials of the Assad regime and senior officers of the Syrian army are the ones who manage these illegal crossings in cooperation with the Lebanese "Hezbollah" militia.
