Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri has decided to join the Foreign Ministers' summit to be held tomorrow (Sunday) in Sde Boker and will be called the "Negev Summit." 

Two sources involved in the preparations for the summit told Walla! that Shukri will arrive in Israel tomorrow and join Foreign Minister Lapid, US Secretary of State Blinken, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Ben-Zayed, Bahrain Foreign Minister Abd al-Latif al-Ziani and Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Burita.

Sources involved in preparations for the summit said that contacts were being held with Jordan so that Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi would also join the Foreign Ministers' meeting. The summit will begin on Sunday evening. The foreign ministers will spend the night at the Isrotel Kedma Hotel in Sde Boker and have dinner together. The summit will continue on Monday morning.

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken plans to visit Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates in the next two weeks.

This will be Blinken's first visit to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates since taking office. The visit is expected to take place during a period of great tension between the Biden administration and the two United States allies in the Gulf. 

This tension has intensified against the background of the Biden administration's desire for Saudi and emirate support regarding the crisis in Ukraine and especially with regard to increasing oil production.

Two weeks ago, Foreign Minister Yair Lapid met with King Abdullah of Jordan. The meeting, which took place in the state capital, Amman, took place ahead of the month of Ramadan and following concerns about growing tensions in Jerusalem. This is Lapid's second meeting with the King of Jordan.

"We agreed that we should work together to calm the tension and promote understanding, especially in the run-up to Ramadan and Passover," Lapid said at the end of the meeting."
