In what is likely to provoke a cynical and satirical wave in the networks, an Iranian government minister complains about his harsh living conditions.
Hajthallah Abdul Malchi, Minister of Labor and Social Affairs (pictured), said in a television interview that the difficult economic situation and the decline in purchasing power are not only hurting ordinary citizens but senior officials including government ministers.
Asked if he was aware of the damage to workers' purchasing power, the minister replied to the interviewer: "Why do you say workers? Employers, CEOs and consultants, even we (ministers) have livelihood problems."
According to official data, prices of food products in Iran have risen by more than 60% in the past year. However, one of the criticisms against the regime is that those who are close to the plate, ie the top, including the ministers, do not know what shortages are.
