Prime Minister's Spokeswoman 20.09.2021
Prime Minister Naftali Bennett announced the appointment of Elad Tene as Head of Public Diplomacy.
Tene (49) is a reserve captain in the IDF Spokesperson's Unit. He resides in Modi'in and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in communications and political science from Bar-Ilan University. He currently serves as deputy director general and head of the digital division – which he established and has led for six years – for Kan, the Public Broadcasting Corporation.
Tene has previously served in various media positions including deputy editor of Ma'ariv, editor of the nrg website and editor of Makor Rishon. In 2000, he was a member of the group that founded the ynet website; he later served in various editing positions for the site including head of the news desk for five years. In late 2010, he established the Motzash youth supplement for Makor Rishon.
In light of Tene's long experience and his in-depth familiarity with the traditional and digital media in Israel, Prime Minister Bennett has decided to appoint him to the position of Head of Public Diplomacy. His appointment will be submitted for Cabinet approval at an upcoming meeting.
