So far, about 2,000 volunteers have signed up for the initiative, and after training, they will set Civil Guard groups in Jerusalem.
In light of the worsening security situation and as part of the lessons learned from Operation "Guardian of the Walls", the Jerusalem Municipality, in cooperation with the Israel Police, the Ministry of Internal Security, and the Netzah Yehuda Association, initiated the establishment of the "Magan" project.
Community guards will be established in all neighborhoods in Jerusalem, in order to create a high level of community cooperation with the municipality. The neighborhood guards will be staffed by volunteers, who will undergo dedicated training and courses, and then join the Civil Guard in the Israel Police.
