Arab media report that demonstrations against the country's military coup are taking place today in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Protesters are reportedly trying to reach the parliament building while reading slogans demanding civilian rule in the country.

It was further reported that the Sudanese authorities have closed major roads in the capital and blocked access to the internet. Sudanese security forces have also reportedly responded by firing tear gas at protesters.

According to several reports mass protests against the military are taking place across the country.
