Hempstead’s council member told the Shomron Regional Council head, Yossi Dagan, that the New York town will cut its business ties and contracts with the ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s and its parent company, Unilever.
About 5 years ago, Dagan signed a “twin cities covenant” with the town of Hempstead, one of the 5 richest towns in the world.
Last week, Dagan requested U.S. governors to trigger the boycott law against Ben & Jerry’s and Unilever.
Bruce Blakeman, a Hempstead Council Member, notified Dagan on Saturday night that the town will apply the law at his request.
