Israel's ambassador to Russia, Alexander Ben-Zvi, noted that his country had agreed with Russia and the United States to hold a meeting between the chiefs of staff and national security to discuss the situation in Syria and Iran.

The date and place are to be determined after negotiations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, in Sochi on October 22.

The Russian news agency Sputnik quoted the Israeli ambassador as saying, "So far this is just an idea, the date or the place has not yet been set. For our part, we are ready to host delegations, but it has not yet been decided."
