Volunteers from the Beer Sheva branch of "With the Soldiers" began this morning an operation that will last about six months.
NEWSRAEL: For those that do not know - Soldiers leaving or returning to their bases can always find volunteer "canteens" on their way to get free refreshments given out by cheerful volunteers. The news here is that a special effort will be done to get to each and every IDF soldier on his way from and to home. The soldiers love it!
Every Sunday, volunteers from the Beer Sheva branch will be waiting for soldiers at the collection stations for bases and will pamper you with a lots of items and refreshments during the week. As is well known, the IDF is trying to help soldiers reach their bases safely and comfortably. To this end, they have set up an organized transportation system throughout the country.
As part of the operation, 6 vehicles will be placed at 6 shuttle stations scattered throughout the country, coordinated by the IDF. Be'er Sheva is one of the central pointsfor soldiers returning to their bases after leave at home.
Zippora Halfon, branch chairman for the Be'er Sheva soldier: "We are excited to take an active part in the "Sweeten your week" campaign. The volunteers will be waiting for the soldiers every Sunday morning at the distribution stations. For us, every Sunday is a holiday!
