Al-Sisi clarifies: Egypt will not go to conflict over water

A reassuring message from President al-Sisi to Egypt's neighbors.

If anyone had any doubt, he makes it clear that Egypt will not enter into a confrontation over water, even with Ethiopia's ambitious revival dam project threatening the flow of water on the Nile to Egypt.

According to him, Egypt is working to create alternative sources of drinking water, among other things through desalination and reuse of water after their purification.

In September 2021, Egypt inaugurated what is defined as the largest water purification plant of its kind in the world, with an investment of 20 billion Egyptian pounds and a production capacity of 5.6 million cubic meters per day.
