The summit of Arab leaders with the US president dealt with a lot of issues - but without practical steps. Ben Salman is in no hurry to increase oil production and his reactions to Iran cooler than before.
After all the promos and big expectations ahead of Biden's visit to Saudi Arabia - what actually happened here?
From the United States side, one could say that there were two main purposes for the visit. One, which everyone talked about - an attempt to mobilize the Saudis to help with the crisis in the energy markets following the war in Ukraine. In other words make them produce more barrels to lower prices.
The second goal is to counteract what the Americans have identified as the entry into the vacuum they have created from other sources - led by Russia, China and Iran. Biden also said this in his own voice at a conference yesterday.
In short - when the dust settles, there was not much achieved here except for the reinstatement of Saudi Arabia as the regional leader.
