A court in Yekaterinburg, Russia, has sentenced Konstantin Kozlowski, leader of the 'Lork Hackers Group', to 14 years in prison after being convicted of hacking into computers, scamming and setting up a criminal group. According to the ruling, he will spend the first year in complete isolation.
According to authorities, Kozlowski founded 'Lork' in late 2013 and developed Trojan malware that allowed hackers to infiltrate the computers of banks and corporations as well as the systems of Yekaterinburg International Airport. The indictment alleges that Kozlowski and 21 other defendants who were prosecuted stole more than a billion rubles until the group was disbanded in 2017.
During the proceedings against him, Kozlowski claimed that the Russian Security Service FSB used it to hack into the Democratic Party's computers and emails of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election.
However, Russian media claimed that the criminal investigation did not confirm his allegations and that no links were found between him and FSB officials.
