Gov't Increases Aid to Holocaust Survivors
Hamal News Agency 02.08.2021
The Israeli government will add an annual NIS300 million ($93 million) to Holocaust survivors as part of the state budget that was approved earlier this morning.
Holocaust survivors who immigrated to Israel after 1953, as well as Holocaust survivors from Morocco, Algeria and Iraq, will be eligible for the assistance package.
Prior to the new budget plan, survivors who immigrated before 1953 received a monthly pension between NIS6,000-11,000 ($1,860-$3,400) in comparison to only NIS4,000 ($1,240) for those who immigrated after 1953, including all immigrants from Morocco, Algeria and Iraq.
