‘Professional, brave’ father-of-two Amichai Carmely killed in Rishon Lezion; 3 injured, including passenger; 4 arrested; vehicle was in earlier accident, fled toward checkpoint.

Police named the deceased officer as 46-year-old Amichai Carmely, a resident of the city. He is survived by his wife and two children aged 19 and 16. The head of the Israel Police traffic unit Yehuda Ben-Atar eulogized Carmely as “professional, brave and salt of the earth.”
