Tehran should not expect significant concessions in the nuclear deal

U.S. President Joe Biden has stressed that Iran should not expect new significant concessions from the United States amid a new round of indirect nuclear talks set to resume, the Voice of America website reports.
A senior administration official said the United States had made the concessions it was willing to make to rejoin the historic 2015 nuclear deal, adding that the success or failure of the talks now depended on Iran by accepting those concessions and returning to compliance.
These statements came after Foreign Minister Anthony Blinkan complained about the lack of Iranian attention in talks during a visit to Ukraine.
The senior official said the United States would not agree to do more than the JCPOA required to get Iran back to fulfill the agreement.
Iran has so far not indicated that it will accept anything less than complete removal of all of Trump's sanctions and rejects proposals to force it to withdraw from all the steps it has taken, which violate the deal.
"The United States has shown its willingness to lift many of the sanctions imposed on Iran in the nuclear talks in Vienna, but Tehran is demanding more," the head of the Iranian negotiating delegation, Abbas Aragchi, said on Friday.
Aragchi said on state television that "the information passed to us by the American side indicates that they are also serious about their return to the nuclear deal and that they have so far announced their willingness to lift a large part of their sanctions."
Aragchi added, at a time when indirect talks were supposed to resume in the Austrian capital: "But that is not enough for us, so the discussions will continue until we reach all our demands."
