In the aftermath of violent clashes along the Gaza border, Border Police officers criticized Sunday the military’s engagement rules that cause confusion in the face of danger.

On the one hand, they say, the military explains what to do in cases of life-threatening incidents, but on the other, they are supposed to receive authorization before opening fire, military expert Dr. Amir Bohbot reported.

The troops were also told by the military that every shooting incident is captured on film and if not it should be reported.

“What can you understand from that?” The soldiers ask.

Moreover, the authorization to fire rubber bullets “took time.” In the meantime, hundreds of Palestinians approached the border fence. The terrorists also hurled explosive charges over the wall. The soldiers didn’t even realize they were in danger. They did not know that armed terrorists were nearing their positions.
