In an uneasy logistical operation, the floating gas rig of the Energian company passed through the Suez Canal today. The huge facility built for the shark gas field crossed the Suez Canal on its way from a shipyard in Singapore to Israel’s waters. At the beginning of last month, it was reported that the floating rig was heading in the direction of Israel.
The passage in the canal required navigational arrangements and complex measures that had already been taken before a number since it was a floating unit, 227 meters long, 59 meters wide, with a total weight of 92,680 tons and a height of 69.5 meters.
With the transition, Energian is meeting the schedule it has set itself to provide first gas shipment from the Shark Project in the third quarter of 2022.
