"The new spirit between America and Israel can be brought to bear and we can do great things together"

Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, against the background of the UN General Assembly in New York, met yesterday with US Ambassador to the UN Linda Greenfield-Thomas. Israeli Ambassador to the UN Gilad Erdan also attended the meeting.
Prime Minister Bennett at the start of the meeting:
"Madam Ambassador, I want to thank you for your big friendship. I know that you've also forged a good friendship with Ambassador Erdan.
I think that the reengagement of the United States with international institutions is a good opportunity to bring balance to these institutions vis a vis Israel. Many times we feel these institutions are slanted and sometimes unfair and I think the new spirit between America and Israel can be brought to bear and we can do great things together. I appreciate your friendship."
Prime Minister Bennett referred to missing soldiers Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, and civilians Avra Mengistu and Hisham A-Said, and asked Ambassador Greenfield-Thomas to continue raising the issue in various forums, as she has done since meeting Leah Goldin.
The Prime Minister thanked the Ambassador for her activity on behalf of the State of Israel at the UN and for the unswerving US support of Israel, and invited her to visit Israel.
