Firefighters from the Judea and Samaria District, with the assistance of the Jerusalem and Central Districts, are currently working on a fire in Begin Park between the settlement of Tzur Hadassah and the city of Beitar Illit.

When the crews arrived at the scene, they identified that it was a forest fire that started in several areas from the direction of the village "Batir" and that it was spreading up the mountain in the direction of "Ein Kobi".

Immediately, additional teams were rushed to the scene from the other stations in the Judea and Samaria district, as well as cross-district assistance from Jerusalem and the center.

In cooperation with the Border Police, families of travelers with children who were staying in the tents were evacuated due to the proximity to the scene of the fire and the fear that the fire would reach the place where they were staying.

At present, the fire covers a size of about 40 dunams. There firefighters have still not been able to control the fire.
