Success – Hours Before Sukkot
Last Monday, hours before the First Day of Sukkot began in Israel, attentive residents in Samaria identified a tractor working relentlessly to pave a new road on the archaeological site of Tzereda (Khirbet Bint-Bar). The Regavim Movement field coordinator received the report and passed on the information to the relevant authorities.

Tzereda is an ancient fortress that dates back to the 10th century BCE and is known as the city of Jeroboam ben Navat, the first king of Israel.

A few years ago, Regavim caught intruders at the site who were engaged in illegal construction. Ever since they have been closely monitoring matters on the ground and pressing the Israeli authorities to prevent illegal activity in the area.

This time, their pressure worked – and quickly, too! Within two hours of the report, the tractor was confiscated, and the paving works were halted.

As usual, during holiday periods, the Arab side increases its efforts in the Battle for Area C, seeking to take advantage of the enforcement officials being on vacation. On this occasion, however, enforcement was swift and efficient!.
