Jordan is demanding compensation from Israel

Jordanian Agriculture Minister Khaled al-Hanifat declared this week that negotiations are underway with Israel for $ 1 million in compensation for fires that he claims broke out on the Israeli side and caused destruction of large agricultural areas and environmental and material damage.

Al-Hanifat said the value of compensation to farmers for the fires For every dunam in the north of the Jordan Valley it will amount to $1,100 to $ 1,400.

Last June, a large fire broke out on the Israeli side of the border that damaged about 150 dunams of land on which wheat and citrus in the Jordan Valley, and caused great damage to farmers and their crops, according to the Jordanians. The Jordanian Minister of Agriculture has promised in previous statements that farmers will receive full compensation for the fires.
