The Minister of Defense, Bnei Gantz, declared two companies owned by Zahir Younes Shmalach, a money changer from the Gaza Strip, as terrorist organizations, on the recommendation of the National Economic Counter-Terrorism Headquarters.

According to intelligence collected and processed by the IDF Intelligence Division, the companies, exchanges "Al-Merkazia LaLatsrapa" and "Arab al-Zin", have been helping to transfer funds to Hamas, and in particular to the organization's military wing, amounting to tens of millions of dollars. .

These funds, which originate in Iran, are provided as part of Quds Force support for terrorist organizations working against the State of Israel. In addition, the funds are transferred with the direct assistance of the companies, with the full awareness of those in charge, using the 'Hawala' mechanism, as well as with the other means and contacts at their disposal, for the benefit of the Hamas terrorist organization.

This declaration by the Minister of Defense, by virtue of his authority in the Anti-Terrorism Law, is intended to constitute an additional pillar in preventing the strengthening of the military arm and preventing its recovery from the heavy damage caused to it as a result of "Operation Guardian of the Walls".

This announcement sends a clear and unequivocal message to the merchant public in the Gaza Strip, according to which any economic activity carried out through the companies owned by Malach will lead to the imposition of strong economic sanctions and the prevention of trade to and from the Gaza Strip. The announcement could even lead to the restriction and prevention of the global activity of these companies financially and business-wise.

The Minister of Defense will use all the tools at his disposal to prevent any economic activity of the recognized and leading companies, at border crossings and around the world, and will prevent companies and businessmen from financing terrorist organizations that work against the State of Israel.
