Palestinian Authority Chairman Abu Mazen is expected to postpone the elections scheduled for next night (Thursday).
In his opening speech at the Fatah leadership meeting in Ramallah, Abu Mazen accused Israel of refusing to permit Jerusalem elections.
He said that Israel had sent a message to the Palestinian Authority today stating that it had no answer regarding the elections in Jerusalem because No one else had formed any government in Israel. "The meaning of the Israeli answer is that they do not allow us to hold elections in Jerusalem," he said.
"They told us - sorry, our dear neighbors that we can not give you an answer about Jerusalem. The reason - we do not have a government to decide on this," Abu Mazen said. "We asked them how there is no government to decide? They answered - we have our own elections. I tell you - every day, government decisions are made to build settlements - which government decides this? "That he will have a long life. Do you think we are lovers?"
