The attempted attack was carried out against the background of severe tensions between Israel and Iran

After 3:00 PM (Saturday), the IDF intercepted three hostile UAVs launched from Lebanon and flew in the direction of Israel's economic waters. The interception of one of the vessels was carried out by an F16 "Barak" aircraft and two others were intercepted using Barak missiles from the Navy's "Achi Eilat" missile ship.

The aircraft, apparently from Hezbollah, were being monitored by Air Force detection systems. According to an initial inspection by the security system, the tools were unarmed and were intercepted over the sea on their way to a shark rig. The IDF has expressed satisfaction with the operation of the alert and detection systems and is preparing for any threat that may materialize.
