Iran Demanding Removal of Sanctions- While Refusing to Back Down from Steps Which Violate the Nuclear Deal
The Nziv Report 09.05.2021
U.S. President Joe Biden has stressed that Iran should not expect new major concessions from the United States, amid a new round of indirect nuclear talks that are set to resume.
A senior administration official said the United States had made the concessions it was willing to make in order to rejoin the 2015 nuclear deal, adding that the success or failure of the talks now depended on Iran, by accepting those concessions and returning to compliance.
These statements came after Foreign Minister Anthony Blinken complained about the lack of Iranian attention in talks during a visit to Ukraine.
Iran has so far not indicated that it will accept anything less than the complete removal of all of Trump's sanctions- while rejecting proposals to back down from all the steps it has taken which violate the deal.
