After recording an impressive performance in "The Guardian of the Walls", the new intelligence system that knows how to detect targets in real time, and warn fighters about attacks, drug smuggling and fence infiltration - is being used and has already provided operational successes. Until Operation "The Guardian of the Walls", not many had heard of the new system, "The Alchemist", which became operational only at the end of last year.
At any given moment, the IDF collects a particularly large amount of information chips. With the right connection, they can indicate a broad intelligence picture, impending threats, intentions and targets for the attack. But the intelligence department is not satisfied with "just" locating and transmitting the material.
The system, developed in 8200, receives intelligence from a variety of sources that security bodies have to offer in real time, analyzes them with the help of artificial intelligence and knows how to report potential threats - from a variety of types: from attacks, to guard from intrusion and attempts to harm civilians.
"This is a dramatic event," Lt. Col. D., head of development at 8200, said, With the help of artificial intelligence, he knows how to create possible connections and give a snapshot of events - even before they start. Thus, the sectoral intellegence can receive a pop-up alert with all the details immediately.
This is diverse and very broad information - it originates in text, an image, on a map or about a specific person. The commander will also receive the reasons why the "alchemist" decided that it was a warning - all he has left to do is go through the information and decide: whether he confirms the warning or refutes it.
The commanders have special use of the system - they can ask it questions and get a quick answer from continuous learning of previous events. In addition, they are assisted by unit staff - who can be assisted at any time, and they know the accuracy and provide additional information of any kind.
The ability, by the way, is activated on the borders and reveals to the forces on the ground events of various kinds. For example, behind the seizure of drugs worth about NIS 2 million, which they tried to smuggle into Israel last February through the Egyptian border - stands the "alchemist".
