Calls to stop the Netanyahu Trials as police use of NSO must first be investigated.
Last week, it was revealed that the Israel police had used the NSO "Pegasus" spy-ware on people involved in the Netanyahu trials. Since then, there have been many more allegations of politicians, businessmen and journalists who were spied on.
Today, MK Israel Katz (Likud) ex-minister in Likud governments and who was listed recently as a possible "inheritor" of the Likud leadership should Netanyahu be forced from political activity, tweeted this response:
"In light of what has been revealed in recent days and this morning - I demand the immediate freezing of all legal proceedings against Benjamin Netanyahu and the establishment of an independent parliamentary inquiry committee to investigate the matter. There was a blatant attempt to overthrow an incumbent prime minister by illegal means and there is a serious threat to democracy in the State of Israel."
Netanyahu, and many Israelis have maintained all along that the police and some top members of the judiciary have been working in tandem to bring about the ousting of Netanyahu from Israeli politics in any way possible.
