Gas soaring to highest levels in a decade

Between Thursday and Friday night fuel is expected to jump by 30 cents per liter. The price may soon cross the threshold of 8 shekels per liter of gasoline and reach a new high - which did not happen since September 2012.

The highest price paid to date for fuel was NIS 8.25 in September 2012, about a decade ago. What affects the current price is the benefit Minister Lieberman and the Ministry of Finance regarding the excise tax - which currently stands at 50 agorot, and is due to end at the end of July.
