According to the report, some of the commandoes from those teams were disguised as maintenance workers, while others hid in old buildings or on roadside vehicles.

The information revealed that that day was a cold and cloudy night in Baghdad, and the southeastern side of the airport was closed for a short period of time for military training.

While the three sniper teams were stationed 600 to 900 meters from the target area on the airport road, one of the snipers had a telescope equipped with a camera that transmitted directly to the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, where the Delta Force commander was stationed with a backup crew.

According to the report, the flight from Damascus landed after midnight on January 3, 2020, a few hours later than planned, and at the same time 3 American UAVs flew over the region's skies.

Snipers teams wait for him

Suleimani arrived at Baghdad International Airport, got into one of the two vehicles that were in his convoy, and set off while the snipers were already waiting for them.

The two cars, in one of which Suleimani was in, then rushed to the exit road from the airport, and while the three UAVs, two of them armed with Hellfire missiles, passed over the convoy, the snipers' weapons were ready and aimed at the target.

Suleimani was the supreme commander of Tehran - backed militias in the Middle East, directly commanding the various armed factions in Iraq, as well as fully coordinating with Hezbollah in Lebanon, Hamas and Islamic Jihad in the Gaza Strip, the Fatimon Brigade (Afghan militias), and Zainbiun.
